African American? Not Me.

African American? Not Me.

Spoken by a popular radio talkshow host and college professor, Walter Williams:

When I was born, I was a negro.
When I was a child I became colored
When I was a young man I changed once again and became black.
Now they're telling me I'm supposed to change again and be African-American.

Well I'm tired of this silliness. I'm not changing! I'm black.

Not to mention, I'm not African before I'm an American. I'm American, period. And nothing comes before that.
